Description
The Oracle DBA will be applying a large number of patches to a Test environment, which will be migrated and tested with a goal of getting production environments uptodate.Additionally, the individual will be responsible for scripting the patch application routines to minimize downtime needed for patch applications. Database versions to be upgraded include 9.2.0.4, 10.2.0.3/4 and 11.1.0.6/7.Oracle DBA should be able to determine when a patch is superseded, a duplicate or part of a bundle. The Admin should be familiar with the basics of applying Oracle patches for versions 9, 10 and 11 on AIX and Windows systems via the command line and Grid Control.S/he should also be familiar with common patching errors and their resolution. During the binary software patching, a script of the corresponding database internal patch scripts will be built so that there will be one script to apply to the patched databases. The Oracle DBA will also perform other duties as assigned.Required Skills for this Oracle Database Administrator position include the following 35 years of experience with Oracle Clustered Database Systems (RAC)Proficiency using Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control, including the provisioning optionProficient in Command Line scripting in Windows and Unix (Perl scripting a plus)Proficient with SQL and PL/SQLExperience in Patch Management and ApplicationExperience with Oracle RAC databases, versions 9, 10, 11Experience with Oracle database upgrades, migrations, character set conversions
