Job Description & Responsibilities Investments Domain (Equities, Fixed Income, Mortgages, Real Estate, and Credit Derivatives) Analyzes with strong understanding of Derivatives, involving frontoffice / trading, middleoffice support and operations, as well as portfolio management and research functions. Serves as subject matter expert (SME) in assigned area Murex Workflow for Derivatives trading is the primary function. Strong knowledge of systems analysis, design, development, quality assurance, and integration methodologies. Translates business requirements into functional specifications. Writes and maintains other technical documentation (including issues lists, flow charts, risk assessments, and use cases) as required for new technologies and/or regulatory compliance, e.g., in support of SDLC, SOX, change control, and problem management processes. Strong ability to work with business users and AD teams to provide reporting and business intelligence support, prioritizing data and information requirements; translates these requirements into applications that employ appropriate decision support and reporting tools; performs modeling of data sources and flows, monitors reporting, inquiry / BI system performance, and assists in selecting new tools / products. Handles complex operational tasks, resolves complex problems, and recommends processing and technology changes. Strong ability to work with business owners and AD teams to support applications that comprise components from different vendors; develops RFIs, RFPs, and business cases; monitors SLAs and Disaster Recovery requirements / testing with vendors. Strong ability to design GUIs into visually compelling layouts with fluid navigation; adheres to enterprise GUI standards and extends to business application GUI requirements; may design screens / layouts for portal, web or rich client interfaces; adept at working with GUI design / tools, e.g., Photoshop, Dreamweaver or other comparable HTML editors, as well as Illustrator, PowerPoint, and Excel. Negotiates deliverables from initial requirements to final implementation by leading communication between business units and IT. Recommends buy vs. build decisions, as well as the development of new code vs. the reuse of existing code. Participates in component and data architecture design, performance monitoring, and product evaluations. Evaluates and implements new initiatives on process improvement and technology initiatives. Serves as initial point of escalation for all processing and operational issues. Assists management in coordinating business area activities and balancing workload. Possesses a solid understanding of the inter relationships of operations functions within the end to end flow of operations. Displays problem solving and analytical skills, using them to resolve business problems. Strong communication, analytical, negotiation, and troubleshooting skills necessary for independent project work. Good understanding of systems / applications software technology utilized to support one or more business operations areas. May be required to coordinate staff in the execution of projects. Responds to direct questions from IT Management or the business on the effects of emerging technologies on product development and business directions; provides buy vs. build recommendations; assists in platform determination.
