System Tester/ Defect Coordinator

Responsibilities Performing manual or automated testing, as needed. Defect coordination will involve working with the project managers, development, system and UAT testing teams and business teams to assign defects and ensure defects are addressed, managed and closed as appropriate. Generate testing metrics and reports via both Excel and the Rational testing tool. Update defects realtime in Defect Action board meetings, work with users on submitting defects in rational ClearQuest and update job aids and training materials. Required Skills System and automation testing experience.Minimum 3 years experience creating and executing test cases and test scripts, and creating defects.Experience with the test tool, Rational ClearQuest Test Management to create test cases. Must have experience using an automated tool, such as Rational Functional Tester, however, will consider experience using Quick Test Pro. Automation skills must include scripting and not just record and play. SQL experience.Must be experienced using requirements and preferably using use cases as well. SOLID verbal and written communication skills. CM Focal / Defect Coordinator skills for coordinating defects and ensuring traceability to requirements, via the respective requirements and defect testing tools. Solid Excel skills, must have on the job experience with creating macros and pivot tables; skills using a bug tracking system. Desired, but not required Mainframe development background, writing JCLs, parallel and performance testing. Hands on with Java and/or Object Oriented code. Experience with the Rational manual test tool for creation of test scripts is highly desired.
