iSeries/Web Utility Developer

Description

Develop/support tools and utilities for use by application support team Create iSeries and webbased applications to streamline the daily work of an application support team. Utilities may be for system/application performance, latency, and capacity planning, start of day verifications, and other functions. Troubleshoot and resolve application issues which occur during a major data center migration project Participate in planning and execution of application recovery tests as the plans change due to Whippany data center exit program Develop tools and utilities to aid application support throughout the data center migration Create and manage application support documentation as it changes due to the data center migration. Schedule Monday thru Friday, 9 am to 6 PM Central 1 or 2 Saturdays of each month, 6 30 am Central to test completion Duration As soon as possible through October, 2010 Qualifications Expertise in C or Cobol and web development languages. RPG skills will also be considered. Embedded SQL and ability to consolidate data from multiple servers into a single presentation UI Experience creating, configuring and deploying web application server At least 3 years experience developing or supporting applications on the IBM iSeries server Proven ability to create complex SQL queries for information, troubleshooting, and ad hoc updates Demonstrable skills in MS Office documentation tools Word, Visio, Powerpoint, Excel Experience in financial trading applications a plus 2nd Position iSeries Application Support/Application Recovery Location Chicago, Illinois Duties Support Financial trading/order management application Perform daily verifications during data center migration period Troubleshoot application issues occuring during the data center migration process, and resolve them Participate in planning and execution of application recovery tests as the plans change due to Whippany data center exit program Develop tools and utilities to aid application support throughout the data center migration oCreate and manage application support documentation as it changes due to the data center migration.
