ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Administer online systems to provide, maintain, and manage the smooth and efficient operation of Entertainment's ecommerce solutions. Determine present and future system capability needs and ensure systems are capable of handling anticipated current and future volume. Configure, install, maintain, and tune OS on UNIX and Linux servers. Ensure all defined standards for documentation, naming standards, and change controls are followed. Propose and review automation scripts and processes to streamline administrative tasks. Manage processes related to data integrity to ensure accuracy and high availability including backup, offsite storage, and business continuity planning. Manage security measures to minimize the risk of internet security breaches. Manage problems dispatched by systems support analysts as the second level of support. Participate in 24/7 oncall duties as needed. Ensure all company policies and guidelines as set forth in the Corporate Human Resources Policy manual are followed. NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Minimum of 5 years direct management experience in a UNIX/Linux environment. Excellent, proven organizational, timemanagement, and multitasking skills. 57 years of UNIX user experience with a minimum of 2 years of UNIX Server Administration experience. 2+ years experience with Solaris and Linux operating systems is required. Superior understanding of UNIX user commands. Solid understanding of server architecture and hardware. Strong Internet experience, especially web servers (Netscape, Apache), load balancing devices (NetScaler, BigIP switches, and Internet protocols). Strong knowledge of SMTP, DHCP, DNS, NIS, LDAP, CIFS, NFS, SNMP, and Linux system security Experience with packet sniffing applications (snort, wireshark, tcpdump, etc) Strong IP networking knowledge required (knowledge of Cisco and IOS a plus) Working knowledge of stateful packet filtering (Cisco ASA, IPFilter, PF, IPtables) Experience with administering JBoss application Servers, including JBoss clustering. Experience with RAID devices. Demonstrated project management and problem analysis/resolution skills. Solid organizational skills with a methodical approach to systems and problem solving. Scripting skills are preferred (Perl, bash, python,etc) Experience with Sun and Intelbased hardware is preferred. Experience supporting Java preferred. Largescale, high volume web experience is preferred. Occasional travel to hosting sites or training sites will be required. BA/BS with an emphasis in Computer Science or Information System courseware preferred or equivalent work experience.
