Rationale for Position The Application Architect is responsible for providing guidance and structure of application architecture across several areas of applications. The individual will be capable of analyzing MetBank's various businesses within a broad financial conglomerate, corresponding business strategies and capability requirements. This includes defining the requirements, principles and models that guide application decisions for MetLife's business lines, as well as the highlevel migration plans to address the gaps between the current and future state target, in concert with the business architecture. Skills/Competencies Job Requirements1. 10+ years of demonstrated leadership in architecting and implementing solutions for enterprise scale applications, preferably in the financial services industry2. Solid understanding of the challenges driving Enterprise Architecture Programs within large organizations, with global exposure a decided advantage3. Effective organizational and cultural skills to drive and effect major architecture change efforts4. Capable of forging effective partnerships and relationships with both lineofbusiness architecture and application development groups5. Broad and indepth knowledge of effective information technology solutions for the financial services industry6. Ability to discuss information technology in business terms7. Solid experience operating in a complex information technology environment8. Demonstrated experience with System Development LifeCycle Methods (SDLC) and Architecture Development processes9. Extensive depth and breadth of knowledge and experience with various technologies such as J2EE, .NET, and Open Source, as well as enterprise application integration products10. Solid knowledge and understanding of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Software as a Service (SaaS) conceptsFit/Implications This candidate will be part of an enterprise architecture organization in MetBank and will report directly to the Chief Enterprise Architect.Travel Requirements510% expected TravelPosition is based in Somerset, NJ
