Job Purpose/ Description This is a Technical Lead position that will primarily support our Financial and Actuarial (F&A) technologies (i.e., PeopleSoft Financials, Hyperion Essbase and DRM. A more detailed breakdown of the jobs purpose in respect to these technologies and F&A is as follows Addresses the IT Architecture for assembling and connecting applications. This specialty requires knowledge of new inhouse applications, legacy applications, and third party applications.Focuses on technology issues of medium to high complexity.Provides leadership and management skills to define enterprise architecture and standards through collaborative team efforts. Manages the development and piloting \ evaluation of architecture solutions for specific business needs that align with the enterprise architecture.Provides detailed expertise and consulting services in one or more architecture \ technology disciplines. Stays current on technology through a variety of sources such as training, independent research, involvement with standardsetting groups, financial services, and crossindustry groups, etc.Communicates architecture standards and directions through oral communication, written communication, and training courses.Identifies obsolete technologies and processes, and assesses associated risks to the business; works with the business on plausible alternatives for migrations. Tasks and Responsibilities Leverages detailed expertise and knowledge to deliver architecture and standards that address complex issues and future directions.Coordinates, manages, influences, and gains comments from cross functional teams and all levels of management on architecture and standards.Participates on and influences directions on external standardsetting organizations.Champions, defines, leverages, and implements processes to define and institutionalize architecture and standards.Ensures that architecture and standard processes are ingrained in other appropriate IT and business processes.Acts as a catalyst to ensure that the architecture and standards are available in an easy, usable form to those who need it through publications, presentations, meetings, etc. Represents the IT aspects of business process integration across internal and external organizations. Leads crossfunctional technical teams for resolving complex technology issues and collaborating on technology directions.May lead technology prototype efforts and pilot deployments.May have involvement with the business during its strategic planning and budget cycles to leverage knowledge and anticipate technology transformation potential from a customer perspective.Champions, defines, leverages, and implements processes to define and institutionalize architecture and standards.Ensures that architecture and standard processes are ingrained in other appropriate IT and business processes.Acts as a catalyst to ensure that the architecture and standards are available in an easy, usable form to those who need it through publications, presentations, meetings, etc. Represents the IT aspects of business process integration across internal and external organizations. Typically 15 years of experience, including project management, application design and development, infrastructure selection and support, and systems technology analysis. Gaining approval and communication of technology architecture solutions and directions.Indepth knowledge of one or more business functions.Collaboration and consensus building among diverse groups. Lead roles on crossfunctional teams, internal peer groups, and external IT groups or IT standardsetting bodies. Able to influence and advise large, complex project teams on technology architecture directions and implementations.Provides leadership and mentoringto other architects throughout the enterprise.Leads and manages key \ complex architecture efforts, such as architecture definition, pilots \ prototypes, and architecture implementations. Capable of defining IT Architecture measures and metrics in terms of value added Required education/experience A minimum of 5 years experience with implementing and supporting PeopleSoft Financials and/or Hyperion Essbase and DRM.A minimum of 8 years experience developing Web based applications in a full SDLC environment for a financial services firm (i.e., institutional/retail brokerage, bank, or asset management).B.S. in Computer Science, MIS or Electrical Engineering or a related quantitative discipline.Graduate degree in Business, Computer Science or a related quantitative discipline is a BIG plus. Experience with datawarehousing concepts and development in Oracle BI and with Informatica is a BIG plus. Experience developing with Acutate and/or Gentran a BIG plus.Working knowledge of Fixed Income Securities or Commercial Real Estate a BIG plus.Must be a US Citizen or possess a Green Card.Possess a strong work ethic, selfstarter, creative, a focus on customer service, possess a high level of energy, enthusiasm, have good communication and people skills, team player, strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask, commitment and appreciate the application of technology in support of our business.
