QA Engineer

Description

The Senior QA Engineer will work in a small distributed QA team that has full responsibility for testing all production software applications for our enterprise platform. This person must be able to work with product management and developers to understand requirements and development issues, including attending a daily scrum call. Position duties include working under minimal supervision to construct and execute test processes for mediumscale projects, assist in testing largerscale projects, and helping to mentor junior QA engineers.Required Skills Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a distributed environment with a positive attitude and outstanding work ethicProven written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to escalate questions quickly when neededMust be able to work well under pressure both independently and with the teamMeticulous attention to detail and excellent problem solving/troubleshooting skillsMust have the technical ability to isolate issues found in the software and determine root causesProven strong analytical problem solving skillsExperience creating and testing comprehensive test cases and detailed test procedures for System, Integration, Regression, Smoke, Functional/Black Box, Grey Box, White Box testingMust be able to create test scenarios with or without formal documentationAbility to mentor junior QA engineers, including writing test documentation for them to executeHelp develop the overall test strategy for a given project based on current functionality, key business needs, and system capabilitiesAt least five years of software QA experience on enterprise systemsWorking knowledge of RDMS and must have proven SQL skillsBasic UNIX knowledge required knowledge of the OS and a variety of commands, including the ability to read system logsExperience testing multitiered applications running on a UNIX, JBoss, Oracle, Java platform
