Description

Qualified candidates will help to maintain, modify and eventually rewrite MNGis Classified and Top Lisitng ads processing application by primarily being the point person of the classified data feeds subsystem. The classified data feed system is used to import content data from the classified publishing systems at the newspaper properties, normalize the data and export the content to our various classified vendors. The feed project will initially be maintenance project to be followed by a complete rewrite of the subsystem. The qualified candidate will manage and develop this sub system. In addition to this, general software development duties will be assigned to help with other components and projects as needed.PRINCIPAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Performs research and analysis to help find solutions for complex business problems. Designs, develops and implements java based solutions as required Familiar with XML, XSLT, JEE Java, JSP, web services, and SQL. Experience with bean shell scripting is desired. Be comfortable with analyzing and understanding raw data feeds Works with other departments to resolve issues with data loads Ensures that code adheres to established standards for accessibility, security, objectoriented practices, and performance. Takes part in peer code reviews Writes and conducts unit and integration tests Works closely with the support and implementation teams to provide notification systems built into the classified feed process
