Description
We are searching for a WebSphere Portal and WebSphere Administration Server (WAS) Administrator to help us design and implement a Portal solution for the UN. The candidate will be responsible for taking the lead in the architecture, planning and design of a complex Web and middleware infrastructure based on WebSphere Portal Platform Version 6.1 or higher. The candidate will also be required to work with an external consulting services company in the implementation and configuration of the Portal solution that meet the United Nations specific business objectives.Roles and Responsibilities The successful candidate will be required to perform the following Provide consulting support to the project during the vision and strategy architecture, and development phasesProvide input in identifying issues and considerations for selecting business application packages and vendors (Business)Identify relevant issues and considerations in selecting both technical software components and vendors including capabilities, clients who have installed them, and user experiences with them (Technical)Analysis, architecture, challenging design, testing, product installation and support of complex WebSphere Portal solutions to meet business requirements.Analyze and Design the single signon configuration in environments with multiple authentication systems (LDAP /Active directory / Domino/Proprietary).Design and participate in the implementation of a WebSphere Portal solution to integrate access to Lotus Notes Email, Lotus Sametime instant messaging.Design and participate in the implementation of a Web Content Management solution in the WebSphere Portal.Plan for and participate in the migration of legacy applications to new WebSphere Portal interfaces, services, and portal components (portlets).Create and review architecture changes and designs for technical fit and adherence to established standardsDesign and implement Portal Administration procedures to ensure the proper running of WebSphere Portal.Work closely with Project Team members to ensure projects and support tasks include appropriate administration requirements.Experience and skills RequiredExpert Knowledge and handson experience with IBM WebSphere Portal installation, configuration and administration.Expert Knowledge and handson experience with IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) installation, configuration and administration.Expert knowledge with LDAP and WebSphere integration as well as configuring and implementing Single Sign on.Expert Knowledge and handson experience with IBM Web Content Management (WCM) installation, configuration and administration.Highly DesirableStrong J2EE development background is desirable and WebSphere application integrationStrong experience in building WebSphere portletsGood experience with enterprise level DBMSs (e.g. Oracle, SQL. DB2)
