Job description You have the strong technical experience and business acumen to help drive the rapid growth and innovation of LinkedIns products, while ensuring a high degree of operational excellence and integrity. Your approaches are flexible, yet processoriented and you are highly dedicated to a service oriented approach through professional commitment and dedication in a fastmoving, startup like environment.The network engineer position will be part of a team to support production, staging, and backoffice environments running 24x7. The role will require both handson technical activities (e.g., maintaining BGP links, routers, and firewalls) as well as contributing to security policy development and enforcement.7+ years experienceThorough knowledge of IP networking principlesRobust experience with addressing, subnetting, routing, switching, VLANs, NAT, etc.Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, IPSec, VRRP, HSRP, and SNMP protocolsSolid experience with providing networklevel redundancy and loadbalancing solutions.Experience with standard network and security change and configuration control policies2+ years of security policy development and documentation experienceIndepth knowledge of network monitoring and administration toolsExtensive experience with Cisco, Foundry, and NetScalar equipmentSpecific experience with PIX firewall systemsOperational experience with network security issues, access control mechanisms, and intrusion detection systems. Specific experience with firewalls, router ACLs, IPSec VPNs, RADIUS, and TACACS.Experience with physical wiring and cabling for both office and datacenter environment.Strong experience in dealing with telecom and colo providers for interoffice or intercolo communication channels.Experience with wireless protocols and authentication mechanisms (802.11, WPA, PEAP, etc)Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to work effectively with little supervision as well as in a team environment.Ability to develop and document operational and crisis response proceduresAbility to work in a fastpaced, rapidly growing environment while balancing multiple, sometimes competing priorities successfully.Willingness and ability to work oncall and respond to production issues on a 7x24 basisCISSP (or equivalent) certifications strongly preferredCC certifications a plusUnix / Solaris experience a plusProgramming / scripting experience a plus
