Summary The Silicon Valley Power (SVP) Business Analyst is responsible for developing the functional requirements, testing, training, implementation, and support artifacts specific to the SVP application portfolio in close collaboration with the business domain and business subject matter experts. Analyst will create and maintain the strategic partnership between Silicon Valley Power stakeholders and Customer IT delivery organization.Understanding business process management and business requirements of the customers and translating them to specific software requirements. Making solution recommendations Documenting and analyzing the required information and data. Understanding the technical designs as well as the specifications. Evaluating the information gathered through workshops and surveys, business process description and task analysis. Effectively communicating with internal teams and external clients to deliver functional requirements like GUI, screen and interface designs. Very strong technical skills coupled with business intelligence and a deep understanding of customer's needs so that they can be transformed into application and operational requirements. Acting as an interface between business units, technology teams and support teamsDegree Bachelors degree or higher in CS, CIS, MIS or equivalent.Skills Understanding business process management and business requirements of the customers and translating them to specific software/functional requirements. Acting as an interface between business units, technology teams and support teamsFive (5) years hands on experience as a business analyst requiredStrong interpersonal skillsExcellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skillsProject management, process, and documentation skillsDetail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlinesSelf motivated and able to work under minimum supervisionResponsibilities OverallResponsible for determining, defining, and documenting current and proposed business processes and user documentation for SVP.Provide consulting support on SVP processes and systems.Conduct executive, operational management, and enduser interviews in the assessment of business requirements, process, and workflows.Define and document processes, and formal business requirements relating to utilization, enhancements, and upgrades of the SVP portfolio.Develop use cases and test plans.Perform quality assurance and functional testing.Provide ongoing enduser training and support of business processes and workflows as related to the SVP application portfolio.Work with outside Consultants and solution providers on business issues and solutions.Foster and maintain good relationships with customers and colleagues to meet expected customer service objectives.Provide research and analysis for product/service recommendations that include descriptions of the service, processing considerations, expense and potential revenue analysis, benefits and risks.Participate in the life cycle of a new application or IT related product by researching the product specifications and providing input to the profit/loss analysis.Coordinate implementation projects with various business units, functional areas and/or vendors.Customer InterfaceBuild strong and trusted relationships with Customer stakeholders in order to be viewed as a technical thought leader for Customer IT.Meet with key stakeholders on a regular basis.Provide status reports on a regular basis that demonstrate delivery according to service level agreements.Communicate challenges and opportunities proactively and consistently to drive business performance.CommunicationsInnovative self starter with excellent communication skillsCreate and maintain a work environment that promotes effective communication between team members and management.Promote a work environment that respects and values the expertise of others and provides each team member the ability to contribute to organizational success.Participate in team meetings on a regular basis.Communicate in a customerfocused manner.Build a network and proactively maintain contacts to foster professional and personal growth.Security and SafetyAdhere to the standards and requirements set to provide a businessoriented and professional work environment.Adhere to the Customer's safety standards for the work environment.PersonnelWork with Service Provider management in setting performance objectives and goals on a quarterly basis.Complete formal performance evaluations with Service Provider management at midyear and yearend.Develop a training plan to enhance job performance as well as professional growth.
