Web Development Manager

Description

Primary Responsibilities Manage the technical design, architecture, development, deployment, and maintenance of new web applications and enhancements to existing web applications throughout the enterprise. Manage and provide direction for the web application development team, including internal, external, offsite, and offshore resources, in support of business operations. Estimate effort and develop project schedules and resource assignments for all web development projects, maintenance, and support. Provide technical leadership to project managers, business analysts and programmers working on web related development project teams. Identify opportunities for efficient team work and develop procedures for same. Collaborate with system owners, business users and the quality assurance team in the testing of new software programs and applications. Develop staff and plan resources, including the planning for external resources to complement the development team as needed. Research and recommend training courses and objectives for web application, integration, and web service developers. Coordinate feasibility studies for software and system products under consideration for purchase, and give advice based on findings. Lead the development of upgrade strategies for system and application software fixpacks and releases that support ecommerce and other web related systems and services. Review, approve, and promote proposed new technologies and standards. Review and analyze existing application effectiveness and efficiency, and then drive the development of strategies for improving or leveraging these systems to provide additional value.
