Business Intelligence Developer

Blue Cross in Omaha, NE and is currently looking for a Business Intelligence Developer for a 6 month contract. Individuals will be responsible for developing BI solutions which may include reports, OLAP Cubes and Data Mining, dashboards and scorecards. Candidates must have solid working experience with SSAS, specifically doing MDX development, TSQL, and be able to write complex SQL queries and stored procedures. Strong understanding of Business Intelligence concepts Strong analytical and problem solving skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Strong understanding of the Insurance business Strong understanding of business statistics and analytics Develop multidimensional structures such as MOLAP, ROLAP and HOLAP Develop TSQL scripts, stored procedures, user defined functions, rdls, C# scripts, MDX, DMX and triggers, etc. for business logic implementation Knowledge of multidimensional structures such as MOLAP, ROLAP and HOLAP Experience in developing TSQL scripts, stored procedures, user defined functions, views, rdls, C# scripts, MDX, DMX and triggers Knowledge of data warehouse concepts such as, Dimensional Modeling, Fact Tables and Third Normal/Star/Snowflake Schemas Experience in using Reporting Services 2005/2018, and Analysis Services 2005/2018 Performance Tuning of run time code Develop and maintain BI Solutions user interfaces Troubleshoot BI solutions and find errors in coding Setting up connectivity to data sources Work with Business Intelligence Analysts and business user to define technical requirements, architecting and developing solutions and solution testing Work with other technical IT resources to develop BI solutions and best practices Work with DBA, ETL administrator, Mid Tier Services for ongoing application support Analyzing data in multiple environments (pre and post ETL) Ensure BI solutions are consistent with business rules Follow best practices for the environment as set up by the Administrators which include but are not limited to a. Change control process b. Documentation process c. Code/Peer Review d. Code development e. Optimization standards
