Description

Specific Functions for Development Database Administrators Assist in design of high volume data mart tables, taking in to account usability, data access requirements, and scalability requirements. Ensure seamless support, optimal performance, and high level of data integrity in the Data Mart Proactively manage scalability requirements ensuring optimal performance as the data continues to grow in the VLDB environments Monitor database utilization Provide data refreshes as needed Work with TIO and DTO Infrastructure partners in the testing and implementation of database infrastructure releases Ensure the performance optimization of all business processes across the Development, Test environments Plan and manage for capacity of multiterabytes of data for multiple environments across the Data Mart Consult across multiple functions including architecture, performance and tuning, data replication, methodology, tools and techniques Buildout development and support of development and system test environments Eliminate environmental risks and provide safe storage and retrieval of vital Fannie Mae data and continued support of SOX controls/Logging and Monitoring Develop and maintain utilities to automate problem determination, change implementation, and monitoring activities Implement best practices and corporate standards in maintaining the database for end user and developer access Effectively communicates and provides leadership across development and business partners Evaluate, recommend and apply tools and techniques appropriate to the project need and influence development effort(s) based on sound information management principles and standards Operates independently and has the ability to implement complex ideas and concepts. Strong negotiation, diplomacy, and presentation skills. Articulates data/database management concepts, standards and technology to developers and the business. Mitigate risks as additional databases are migrated to production Work with Operations and Infrastructure in the evaluation, testing and support of database and infrastructure activities.
