Description

Responsibilities Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates business reporting systems and user needs. Formulates system to parallel overall business strategies. Contributes to the maintenance and support of the Data Warehouse. Collaborates with endusers, other IT professionals, vendors and consultants to develop, design and implement solutions for business reporting needs. Troubleshoots and resolves production support issues quickly, summarizing and reporting results and potential improvements to IT management. Produces appropriate documentation and notifications for changes to production systems or fixes to production problems. Defines and follow standards for data warehousing. Engage in peer reviews of process design, including coding, scheduling, etc. Assesses alternatives to current procedures and implements longterm solutions.Requirements College degree in Computer Science or related field 5+ years experience in information technology with focus in a Data Warehouse environment Expert knowledge of Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence technologies and vendor tools (SPSS Query & Warehouse Builder preferred) Knowledge of database modeling and programming (e.g., DB2, Oracle, MS SQL Server, PL/SQL) Knowledge of reporting and analysis delivery tools and applications (Business Objects, Cognos, etc) Knowledge of ETL tools, concepts and theories Knowledge of wholesale retail business is preferred Experience defining business requirements and translating into technical solutions Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment with changing priorities and short timelines Must be detail oriented and selfmanaging. Strong analytical and problemsolving skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills, both technical and user focused. Relies on experiences and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required.
