Description

General Requirements Notes System Administrator (Domino) is responsible for ensuring optimum information access, providing consistency and synchronization across all platforms, and integrating other systems and technologies. The incumbent works as part of a team to install and administer Lotus Notes Servers, provide thirdtier support for the Notes client, and plan, develop and support certain Notes/Dominobased applications. The incumbent works as part of a team to architect, plan, engineer, test and certify the Lotus Notes Client software installation for over 15,000 workstations A primary responsibility is for system performance optimization, maintenance and production support. The incumbent works with other team members in solving the range of enterprise interoperability and integration issues that may exist in the messaging environment Tasks (General Description) Ensure high availability of messaging services to end users Perform necessary tasks for integrity of the messaging system Implement and adhere to security procedures Implement hardware and systems software upgrades to existing servers Plan, design, and implement mail routing; identify server locations, replication and remote connections. Coordinate with operating system and storage teams for system upkeep and for reliable service delivery. Plan and implement hardware and software upgrades to existing messaging and related servers as needed ; Maintain business continuity and disaster recovery configuration; Execute maintenance plans for messaging infrastructure. Ensure messaging database and network optimization Support and troubleshoot as required, optimizing performance, resolving production problems, and; Provide timely followup on problem reports Plan, schedule, and conduct system tests, monitor test results, and take required corrective action Perform daily messaging administrative tasks, including Database movement/replication Corporate messaging hub server monitoring and maintenance Coordinate systems development activities with other groups reviewing deliverables and communicating status with management Provide technical direction and training to other IT personnel; Solve interoperability issues Architect, plan, design, engineer, and implement Notes client software installation for standard World Bank Enterprise Desktop (ED5) Provide 3rd tier support for Notes client issues Engage in capacity planning and monitoring messaging database growth; Aid in design of database templates/schemas Enhance and maintain messaging system, and perform structural changes when necessary Create and maintain task automation and monitoring tools Evaluate new database applications for resource impact and assist in troubleshooting malfunctioning applications Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor Produce statistical and management reports as required Specific Requirements Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline Four years or more of relevant experience with IBM Lotus products (R7, R8 and above) for messaging and collaboration, such as Notes client, Messaging, Gateways, Quickr, Sametime in a large user base. Solid Notes Formula and LotusScript software development experience. Knowledge of JavaScript, web services, Eclipse, etc. a plus. Strong analytical and problem solving skillsMust be willing to work flexible hours. Work week may cover weekends as necessary. Experience with relevant server platforms and operating systems (Windows and Unix), security (RSA), directory services (LDAP), SMTP/MIME Strong ethics and knowledge and understanding of business needs, with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence in the messaging team. Strong customer focus and ability to manage client expectations Solid project management skills in planning and monitoring projects in a crossfunctional environment Effective teamwork and excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written, in a multicultural and multiethnical environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity Ability to present and explain technical information in a way that establishes rapport, persuades others, and gains understanding Ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence in the messaging teams knowledge of and concern for customers business needs
