The eCommerce web application software development group is seeking a motivated high performing person to join a team of developers responsible for creating multiple applications for a major growth business at Thomson West. The West Education Group business provides learning opportunities to lawyers to help in their preparation for taking the Bar exam. One of the products that we provide is a test taking software application that simulates asking questions the user may see during the bar exam process. There are a variety of ways the information is presented to the user and many options for helping them learn at their own pace. This application is written using Adobe Flex and Actionscript. As part of this effort, the developer will be responsible for gathering and understanding business requirement documents and applying best practice development efforts towards solutions, while working and collaborating with lead developers.The project development team is using Agile techniques, so familiarity with Agile development is desired.Primary Responsibilities. Design and develop applications to support the business. Work with a small focused development team, crafting solutions to architecture and feature needs. . Share technical knowledge with other team members. Work individually as well as within a matrixed group environment. Participate in design and code reviews. Strive to exceed expectations of our business and technology partners along with our peer development teamMinimum Qualifications. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related degree. 3+ years of Flex/Actionscript experience. Experience with the following Flex client side webservices, CSS, ANT, Adobe AIR runtime, FlexBuilder IDE. Javascript experience. Strong problem solving, analysis, design, and testing skills. Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skillsPreferred Qualifications. Swiz framework experience. Web Services (SOA) development experience. XML/XSL background. .NET development experience. Java development experience
