Experience/Skills . Passion for building rich web applications that combine cuttingedge UI technologies with modern standards.. 3 years of very strong indepth experience with clientside Web UI development, and understanding of the differences between browsers. Experience with HTML5 and CSS3 preferred. . 2 years of recent experience in advanced JavaScript, with thorough understanding of concepts like objects, closures and prototypes in JavaScript.. 2 years of very strong recent experience working with JavaScript libraries such as jQuery, YUI, or Dojo. Proficiency with clientside debugging tools. . Experience with Ajax and techniques for making crossdomain requests. Experience with ASP.NET and C# in development of Webbased applications, including creation of controls and page inheritance,is required.. Ability to communicate effectively, both written and oral, and to collaborate with other technical & business groups . Ability to work both independently and as part of a project team. Description Position Summary Statement The Dow Jones Factiva User Interface group is seeking a Front End Web UI consultant for developing highly interactive web applications, working closely with the User Experience & Creative Design teams. The work includes architecture, design and development of the applications in a Microsoft .NET environment. The right candidate would be someone who stays abreast of new and emerging web application technologies. Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities . Develop interactive destination web applications and web controls using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, interfacing with the backend systems using ASP.NET and C# with platform integration libraries (ClientServer architecture). . Work closely with other developers in the UI group and the User Experience & Creative Design teams. . Participate in the usability reviews and testing of the websites, interactive controls, and prototypes.
