QA Test Analyst

Description

The QA Systems Analyst works with the Project, Development and Support teams for the Oracle eBusiness (GIFS) platform at Visa to ensure appropriate levels of QA testing have occurred for GIFS related activities using Visa methodology and/or industry best practices. There will be participation and interaction with customers and key stakeholders in FSS, CTO, PMO & Global Operations. The QA team is a critical component for successful Production releases and requires detailed handson functional testing. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES/KEY RESULTS AREA This role will currently report to the Business Leader of QA & Release Management, allowing the support and development teams to concentrate on their core work without distraction. STRATEGIC NATURE, MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTABILITY & SCOPE The GIFS application is deployed across the globe and expected to grow in scope over the coming years. This position plays a contributing role in the successful release of Production migrations of the application, maintaining operational performance and ensuring that QA processes are efficient and appropriate. DECISION MAKING & COMPLEXITY This QA position will be required to develop and maintain Oracle related functional test scripts based on a combination of factors. They will also assist in helping to develop a standard QA process using internal Visa TMM (Test Management Methodology) and industry best practices. FINANCIAL & ORGANIZATIONAL SCOPE This position will not directly manage a budget or team, but will provide QA testing and recommendations based on QA experience and Oracle functional expertise. They will also participate in the development of management reporting as it pertains to QA testing. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS & INTERACTIONS Reporting directly to the Business Leader of QA & Release Management, this position forms a key part of the leadership team and will interact frequently with the Project, Development, and Support teams. KEY COMPETENCIES Successful project delivery and support performance of the eBusiness Suite thru effective QA testing. Promote a standardization of QA processes and a discipline of QA testing across the team. Manage multiple competing priorities and provide efficient, timely and controlled QA testing. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE Deep knowledge of the Oracle eBusiness Suite at both Functional and Technical levels. Extensive knowledge particularly in the following Oracle modules iProcurement, iExpense, iSupplier, Purchasing, Cash Management, Payables, Assets, General Ledger, System Administration, and Discoverer. Understand business requirements, development and implementation of test scripts using standard QA industry best practices. Minimum of 5 years experience in Oracle EBusiness Suite Applications with an emphasis on Financial Applications Minimum of 12 years experience in a QA functional or technical role. Ability to develop QA test scripts from both a technical and business perspective A demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and sustaining a high level of performance when under pressure A person who is comfortable communicating at all levels within the organization PREFERRED EXPERIENCE Demonstrated history of QA process improvement Experience working with multiple cultures and offshore System Integrators Demonstrated training experience using industry standard QA tools (ieQuality Center, Clearquest, Clearcase) Functional and Technica
