SQL Server Developer

Description

SR MS SQL Server developer that can help us with a project that has gone a bit awry. Needs to be a senior level developer that can dig in, diagnose issues with the data flows and then either fix the issue or direct our offshore team how to fix the problem. We'd look for this person to make suggestions for performance improvement as well and possibly have him/her lead the effort to migrate this particular client solution to a new hardware environment. Sr. Business Intelligence Developer Digital Solutions Data Management Responsibilities Responsible for oversight and development of data warehouse architecture, design, programming and implementation formarketing database projects Analyzes and defines data flow requirements Documents technical specificationsPrepares and implements data verification and testing methodsResponsible for creating reuseable processes that help implement each solutionWorks with key stakeholders to understand business requirements and expectations in order to develop appropriate product applicationsProvide mentoring to junior developersActs as development team lead for a team consisting of both onshore and offshore resources.Ensure projects stay on task by acting as a liaison with project management and developersStays current with latest technologies and best practices in the industryDevelopment of complex extraction, transformation and load processes (ETL)Performance and tuning of ETL processes and preparation of business and technical documentationAutomation and productionalization of all jobs and data flows with an eye toward error recovery and supportabilityDesign of specialized data structures for the purpose of business intelligence and data visualizationMaintaining a set of development standards in conjunction with team architectsWorking with project team to plan, design, develop, and implement application systems and/or enhancements to existing systems to meet current and future needsConduct appropriate testing of applications to ensure quality Required Skills/BackgroundFive to ten years of work experience in IT Applications development with at least 5 years experience specific to ETL design, data warehouse architecture, development and execution of ETL processes, requirements and standardsSpecific advanced knowledge of ETL development tools including Microsoft SSIS (preferred), Ab Initio, Informatica,Datastage, or DTSFamiliarity with objectoriented programming methods. Visual Basic .NET or C# background preferredAdvanced database knowledge including SQL Server and OracleRelational database modeling skillsFamiliarity with business intelligence tools such as Microsoft Reporting Services Business Objects, MicroStrategy, etc. aplusFamiliarity with SQL Server Analysis Services a plusPrevious experience with data warehousing, data integration and relational data modelingExcellent analytic skillsDeadline focused, detail oriented, well organized and self motivatedExperience partnering with project managers and business analysts to lead prior development projectsAbility to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and manage time efficientlyAbility to gather business requirements from client and translate those requirements to technical specifications.
