The College Boards New Media department within its Business Technology division (BT) is responsible for maintaining and optimizing websites in a comprehensive manner that Align with, incorporates, and encompasses business program goals Incorporate a multifaceted view of website capabilities, including analytics, search engine optimization, design, user experience, and technology Packages and delivers updates to the websites through a systematic and frequent schedule in alignment with various business program initiatives as well as progressively optimize the site through various means of qualitative and quantitative analysis We are looking for a highly motivated person to lead and manage all aspects of the New Media departments website optimization team for the Home Page and Organization Sites. This is a very handson type job, with the ideal candidate being able to dive into details and assist the team in various areas according to his/her skill set and expertise, while also still being able to manage the entire team. This person will have a wide variety of responsibilities, including Working closely with business partner leadership Evaluating user experience and interactions, and recommending enhancements based on the evaluations Analyzing web metrics to provide further optimization opportunities Evaluating and integrating visual design updates into the website Technical support and maintenance This individual will work with an integrated core New Media team across the Analytics, User Experience, and Web Technology teams, along with supplemental staff as needed based on project plans. Successful candidates will have managed and led numerous successful web implementations. The ideal candidate must have experience working with all aspects of managing a website, and must possess the unique ability to dive into and understand the details of the analytical, creative, user experience, and technical teams as needed to effectively manage the team. Candidates must be highly effective at working with all levels of leadership within the New Media department, across the various BT divisions, and within the various business programs that represent the Home Page and comprise the Organization Site. Strong communication skills, customer relationship skills and team leadership skills are paramount to the success of this role. Candidates must also have an attention to detail and the ability to manage parallel tracks of work while proactively planning future work for the team. The ideal candidate possesses the ability to translate technology related language into a style that is business friendly for the appropriate business program stakeholders, and vice versa in translating business oriented communication into appropriate technology related language. This individual will work closely with Directors and Managers in College Boards New Media organization and will report directly to the Delivery Oversight Manager. This individual is expected to be based out of the College Boards New York City office and travel frequently to the College Boards Reston office. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Must have realworld experience and background in one or more of the following areas web analytics, search engine optimization, UI design, user experience, and/or Web 2.0 technologies Be accountable for the successful development, maintenance, and upkeep of the Home Page and Organization website Manage the integrated team comprised of staff, consultant teams and contractors to successfully update the site on regular and adhoc intervals Be accountable for the following across the team 1. Communication practices 2. Scope management 3. Integration planning 4. Risk management 5. Quality assurance of deliverables to the program and oversight 6. Executive leadership updates and decision making Own and drive all team details, issues, deliverables, etc Manage the budget, schedule, quality, cost, and resources for the team Provide regular updates to various stakeholders at multiple levels Raise key decision points and risks as appropriate for resolution Possess significant experience maintaining and optimizing large, complex web programs Provide guidance and feedback to members of the team in balancing both the interests of New Media and that of the business programs PRINCIPAL RELATIONSHIPS Internal Contacts Establishes and maintains frequent communications with colleagues at all levels of the organization, but primarily focusing on and working with Business Technology (all departments) Legal MarketingCommunications OE Advocacy Research & Development Finance Procurement Office of Strategy Management External Contacts Interactive agencies Third party software vendors
