Oracle Database Administrator

Description Responsible for the administration, optimization, monitoring, tuning and backup/retrieval of enterprise databases. Additional responsibilities include creating and maintaining user access, space management, database refreshes, and database security. Monitors database for potential problems and creates enduser reports. May write and tune SQL or PL/SQL code. May participate in data migration activities or work with application development teams to provide database access and knowledge. Provides appropriate consulting, interfacing, and training for users. Establishes and maintains policies, standard operating procedures, and associated documentation for user interaction with the database environment. A minimum of 35 years experience as a Database Administrator is required.Roles and Responsibilities Design, install and support Oracle RDBMS and its related products and technologies. Develop scripts, stored procedures, triggers and database software packages. Implement database backup and validate recovery plans. Tune databases and plan capacity. Monitor database events, troubleshoot faults and resolve problems. Follow change management policies to migrate corrections and enhancements through database environments. Provide disk space analysis and database growth reports. Provide back tier support for databases. Ensure RDBMS availability and integrity on 24x7x365. Provide after hours and oncall support as required. Develop database/application migration plans data, database objects, scripts. Distribute database performance statistics to application owners. Monitor database events, troubleshoot faults and resolve problems. Ensure normal operation in all databases and database related environments (not limited to prod only). Perform troubleshooting of all databases and database related environments (not limited to prod only). Participate in all required meetings.
