PLM Developer / Business Analyst

Description

This individual will serve as a PLM Business Analyst and a Developer for the Tyco Electronics suite of PLM tools Including Enovia/MatrixOne and WindChill/PDMLink systems. Responsibilities include Position Responsibilities/Duties Supporting/expanding the TE PLM systems, especially the Enovia/MatrixOne PLMCentral and WindChill/PDMLink systems. Creating Business Requirements Documents, Functional Design Specifications, and resource estimates for software development effort Developing reusable components and overseeing development to ensure that best practices are being followed including the corporate Software Engineering Methodology Providing secondlevel User support Reviewing, incorporating, documenting, and sharing Best Demonstrated Design/Development Practices Evolving the Tyco Electronics PLM Vision especially as it relates to the maturation of an Engineering Change and part centric BOM culture Participating actively in User Advisory Group meetings and global Steering Councils to solicit feedback from user champions and Business Unit executives Working with software vendors to communicate/prioritize gaps and/or defects and work towards timely resolution of critical issues Capturing business metrics and value Position Qualifications/Competencies RequiredUnderstanding Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Experience with Enovia / MatrixOne V6 AEF / Central applications including Engineering Central and Program Central Experience with WindChill / PDMLink applications including PartsLink Demonstrated experience writing custom programs to extend the basic functionality of the TE PLM systems including UI design, application integration, source code management and pipeline management Demonstrated experience interfacing PLM systems with external IT systems including data warehouse, MRP and other PLM systems using JDBC, SOA and custom interfaces. Minimum 5 years of IT or engineering experience Demonstrated experience with HTML, Java, JavaScript, web applications, relational databases and UNIX and the development tools required to build, test and manage product using these technologies Understanding of webbased IT systems including highlevel system design and programming concepts Experience as a Business Analyst writing Business Requirements Documents, Functional Design Documents Specs and working directly with customers to define requirements and rollout applications Ability to work on multiple projects and work streams at one time and deliver results based on project deadlines Excellent organizational, verbal & written communication, and presentation skills Strong problem solving skills Strong spoken & written English language communication skills Able to work independently as well as in a Team Ability to working in a large, global organization and occasionally flex daily work schedule to allow for timezone differences PreferredA solid understanding of Engineering Processes including New Product Development, New Part Introduction, Engineering Change, Bill of Materials (EBOM/MBOM) and ERP interfaces, Required Education Level Bachelors degree in Computer Science or Engineering or related field of study or related experience
