Education/Minimum Qualifications and Experience Computer Science degree preferred but equivalent experience may be substituted.Experience in design of structured cabling solutions for voice and data traffic (Systimax, Avaya Preferred) 5 years demonstrated solid understanding of to Switched Ethernet, TCP/IP, IPX, DSL, ATM, Frame Relay, LAN, WAN, VPN, Wireless Ethernet, IP Telephony, Integrated Hospitality Applications as well as converging technologies directly and indirectly related to VoIP, CTI, and IVR, and all relevant utilities and applications. 5 years broad and indepth experience and knowledge of carrier based communications provisioning and protocols in both public switched and private telecommunications networks including CAS, ISDN (BRI & PRI), QSIG, Frame Relay, and ATM. Demonstration of good technical and tactical thinking and problem solving. Outstanding verbal and written communications skills. Ability to work and effectively communicate with IT management personnel, peers, and outside vendors is important. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills. Ability to work and effectively communicate with executives, enterprisewide and business unit management, peers, and outside vendors. Outstanding Customer Service SkillPosition Description The Data Network Systems Engineer is responsible for data networking hardware, software, cabling and relevant utilities for Wyndham. Continuously monitors performance, and builds and/or implements comprehensive integrated system solutions for IT customers, while maintaining a high level of service on production systems and anticipating future requirements, trends, and changes to assure current and future satisfaction of customer service within budget constraints Responsibility Perform work of Wyndham Network Services to include systems maintenance, support, installations, upgrades, performance monitoring, and storage administration, while providing functional guidance and direction to client base. 35%Provide input to IT with regard to data networking and operational requirements, and how future and current requirements may impact the enterprise and can be exploited for the benefit of the company. 20%Participate in evaluation of system requirements, specifically those relevant to Switched Ethernet, TCP/IP, IPX, DSL, ATM, Frame Relay, LAN, WAN, VPN, Wireless Ethernet, IP Telephony, Integrated Hospitality Applications, and all relevant utilities within the data communications systems environment to achieve the most efficient mix to produce maximum costeffective utilization of IT resources. 20%Perform technical support coordination between Network Services and other IT technical engineering groups, supporting the maintenance and installation, and modification of systems including interfaces, migration of new software releases, system upgrades, and general technical modifications. 20%Work with Program Office to develop project plans for software and infrastructure strategies to satisfy customer information requirements. Provide weekly and monthly reports on project status. Ensure adherence to formal processes, standards, and total quality practices in all activities.
