Description 1.New technology platform Retooling of current content management/web authoring system to a new CMS.2.Website redesign. The purpose of the Information Architect is to provide immediate relief to the Information Architecture team during content migration, retooling, and redesign. The information architect will Facilitate brainstorming sessions and lead meetings as necessary. Review the toplevel Mass.Gov portals current information architecture (IA), content groupings, and labeling and propose specific modifications necessary to migrate to a new navigation design and CMS. Be able to demonstrate that proposed changes preserve or improve usability and search engine optimization. Triage and document nice to have but not essential longterm IA and content improvements. Ensure that revised information architecture complies with accessibility, editorial and web publishing standards and the requirements of the new CMS Learn and make effective use of existing and new CMS platforms and associated tools. Once approved, manually input IA/content changes that cannot be handled in batch mode. Assist in developing and conducting usability tests as required. Facilitate customer meetings in support of content migration and visual redesign projects. Provide assistance planning, coordinating, and scheduling customer communications. Once approved If time permits, Information Architect may also Participate in new template development, web publishing business process analysis and documentation of processes using new CMS. Participate in UX redesign activities. Participate in agency migrations and review content analysts work. The Information Architect will have At least 5 years experience as an information architect or similar role Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills Proficiency using MS Office, Internet and email, including ability to work with Excel spreadsheets. Thorough understanding of web publishing best practices Experience in developing or revamping a website with a substantial depth, breadth, and volume of content Strong editorial instincts for managing information oriented websites Prior experience in usability, product management, or website design Thorough understanding and demonstrated proficiency in writing userfocused web content Excellent public speaking and presentation skills Experience facilitating meetings that encourage participation but also lead to effective decisionmaking Thorough understanding of Massachusetts state government or experience with egovernment or ecommerce programs preferred Ability to capture and convey the interrelationships of government information Ability to drive projects to completion, manage multiple competing priorities and meet deadlines. Project management experience is desirable. Experience in managing communications projects Experience working with diverse customer groups Demonstrate experience in guiding and working in a collaborative environment Prior experience in content management systems, particularly content migration, a plus.
