Duties Were seeking a Senior Application Engineer with a solid background in frontend application engineering to work in our fast paced and dynamic environment supporting Symantecs Global online Premium Services business. You will collaborate with other developers and architects as well as our business partners to design, develop and deliver solutions that meet and exceed the requirements both from a functional standpoint as well as a systems performance perspective. You will have the chance to become a key member of the team enabling the Symantec services business to grow and expand its global PC service offerings. This team member must demonstrate solid understanding of rich application development in C++, .NET related web technologies as well as a strong background in web based and service oriented application development. Additional duties include researching and understanding new web technologies to provide technical solutions in developing Premium Service applications and analyzing business requirements as they pertain to business goals and objectives. Provide written design documents, functional specifications, and unit/harness test cases and test results. Manage, develop, integrate and implements related application components. Additionally be responsible for maintaining and enhancing multiple applications, building IT standards, and promoting industry best practices. You must be passionate and driven to deliver best in class solutions that will drive the business into the future. Your work in providing critical development capabilities for Symantecs Premium Service business will help us optimize and enhance our consumer business as we continue to evolve and grow. Skills 10+ years IT technical experience in Windows application development 4+ year software development experience in system or network security environment 4+ years experience developing C/C++ Windows applications 4+ years experience using .NET to develop web based applications Experience with the following .NET technologies LINQ, Silverlight, MEF and MVVM. Interfacing managed code to C++ dlls, nHibernate Strong technical knowledge of current Internet systems software, protocols and standards, including TCP/IP, HTTP/S, XML, SOAP, Web Services and ServiceOriented Architectures Proven track record of successfully delivering complex IT web solutions for customers through a disciplined Development Methodology that leveraged various roles (for example BSAs, Project Managers) Must have Object Oriented software design skill Excellent debugging techniques Full life cycle software development experience from conception to product delivery Sophisticated logical thinking and analytical skills Selfmotivated. Cando attitude. Good team player. Hardworking. Must be flexible to work in early or late office hours, when required Must have initiative and willingness to work overtime during required periods to achieve project milestones Ability to work and communicate well with the other members of the team.
