US Steel needs a resource to join their existing team of (8) members (3) Information Architects (Team Leads) and (5) developers to assist with the development and design of all applications associated with the Order Entry portion of this process. Ideally, US Steel would like to bring onboard a strong JAVA developer with excellent design skills. This position with have daytoday task will include the design, troubleshooting and debugging of applications and systems in PL/SQL and JAVA. PLEASE NOTE This position will start at 75% development and 25% design. In time, they would like to move it more towards design focus, flippig percentages to more 75% design and 25% development. GLOSSARY OR TERMS ORDER ENTRY, normally, is a computerized relational database that, at a minimum, generates schedules and maintains estimates, sales orders and backlogs. Invoices may also be created automatically if linked to Accounts Receivable. More advanced order entry systems are usually fully integrated with the accounting system. SALES ORDER The sales order, sometimes abbreviated as SO, is an order issued by a business to a customer. A sales order may be for products and/or services. Given the wide variety of businesses, this means that the orders can be fulfilled in several ways. Top 3 Skills (stack ranked) MUST HAVES 1) 5+ years of JAVA development (ideally in RAD 6.0, WebSphere environment) Troublehoot code, scrub/debug data Make enhancements 2) 35+ years of WEB services (architecture and implementation) 3) 3 years of PL/SQL (debug procedures, packages, triggers, queries) Go To Work N line/Deadline intensive Strong team dynamic Collaborative groups Business Casual w/casual Friday's Business Challenge Client is Tasked with Solving The ORDER TO CASH department must assure that current systems and applications related to Sales Order and Customer data are correctly flowing downstream to all plants and end clients. To assure all sales order information for production orders are accurate and timely to all business units requiring this information. Who is the Internal/External Customer (i.e., enduser or endclient) Internal All Business Units requiring Sales Order information to process, from data to process steel in a certain manner (ie.....make it certain way for a car door, etc...) to Accounts Receivable/Payable to assure timely payment from customers. External Customers seeking to buy steel and have accessiblity to systems/applications for order entry and tracking of request. Impact to the Internal/External Customer (i.e., how does the endusers job become easier) Order to Cash refers to the business process for receiving and processing customer sales. If all systems and applications related to the actual request and sales of Steel Products are incorrect in any way, it could cause serious delay to customer and major amounts of revenue and potential loss of business.
