Business Intelligence Developer

We are looking for analysts that will help Chegg embrace data driven decision making. This requires that we as the EDW team get accurate and timely information into the hands of the business decision makers. We are looking for the best and brightest BI analysts in the industry to help us. The ideal candidate for this position must have deep knowledge in Enterprise Data Warehousing, and strong sql query skills. This person will work closely with the engineering teams as well as the business community to pull data from the existing MySQLbased EDW as well as a new Aster Databased Data Warehouse. This analyst will have exceptional communication skills, as they will be interacting with both technical and business oriented staff. Responsibilities The Business Intelligence Developer / Analyst will be aligned with a specific functional business team. Familiarity with finance and/or supply chain is a distinct plus. They will be responsible for providing any or all of the following functions Provide decisionsupport to analysts, managers and executives by creating reports, running queries, and performing advanced analytics such as statistical analysis and data mining Provide expert advice in the usage and interpretation of data for the assigned business area Play a key role in defining analytic metrics which drive the business forward Assist data modeling team in verifying correctness and completeness of the data model, data relationships, mappings and definitions for the functional business area Design data structures optimized for analytical reporting Define business rules and transformations for data coming from source systems into the data warehouse Identify data quality issues and their root causes. Propose fixes and design data audits to ensure against problem recurrence Develop presentations to communicate broadly across the business, and potentially externally to suppliersRequirements 5+ years working as an analyst in an enterprise, datadriven environment Excellent SQL skills; comfortable using a data access tool such as Toad MySQL knowledge is helpful; Aster Data experience a distinct plus Excel wizardry is a requirement Passionate about producing highquality analytics deliverables. Detailoriented and results driven Extensive use of analytical tools supporting data analysis Extensive experience within an ELT (or ETL) based data migration paradigm The ability to turn data into insight, and to think creatively Familiarity with dimensional data modeling required Familiarity with the identification and resolution of data quality issues A bottomline orientation eager to take responsibility and to deliver results Independent worker with a sense of urgency, but with strong team skills and a desire to grow within Chegg
