Summary The Information Technology Department delivers superior customer experiences through the development and support of front and back office systems while focusing on ITs four core values Partnership, Excellence, Innovation and Efficiency. IT Server Infrastructure Teams key responsibilities are to manage, maintain, architect and support Wintel, UNIX, and Backup and Storage infrastructure. The teams goal is to meet the growing needs of ING Direct and maintain a high customer satisfaction rate. This position is responsible for designing, managing and implementing all underlying server infrastructure for the Microsoft Windows server platform. This encompasses all supported physical server hardware, the virtualized server infrastructure and all infrastructure applications. Provide oncall and off hours support for implementation and emergency response. This position will work a cross teams to develop new technical solutions as well as document current solutions. Responsibilities Technical lead for deployment and management of the following infrastructure components Microsoft Active Directory Microsoft Windows servers Enterprise messaging with Exchange VMware ESX hosts/servers Microsoft SCOM Citrix infrastructure Microsoft SMS/SCCM Maintain a stable Microsoft Windows and VMware ESX environment and deliver the support services necessary to support the business needs. Design and maintain Windows file sharing infrastructure and access security. Manage monitoring of server architecture to ensure high availability. Develop standards and documentation for the products supported by the team. Administration of both Microsoft Windows server and VMware host/server environments during scheduled maintenance windows. Develop policies and configurations for supported infrastructure components. Planning for supported infrastructure components, including capacity, availability and performance related processes. Research new technologies to improve existing environments and be proactive in problem mitigation. Respond to service requests and coordinate with other infrastructure team members to ensure timely compliance with service level agreements, within established change and problem management guidelines and processes. Analyze current and future server technologies in accordance with company strategic direction settings. Provide after hours and oncall support as part of a rotation. Monitor and track trouble tickets and change requests to ensure high quality customer service. Perform frequent server health checks and implement patches to ensure current revision level. Monitor system resource usage and ensure adequate resources are available to meet the IT requirements through resource scheduling and new resource acquisition. Respond to system failures and work with vendors to resolve issues related to hardware and software. Review current system and industry best practices and recommend technology solutions that improve team efficiency. Participate in design and implementation of projects, systems, and procedures to meet department goals. Work with security teams to ensure ING security policies are met. Qualifications 7 years in a large sized distributed system environment, support multiple platforms, Active Directory, Exchange and servers 5 years experience using SCOM, SCCM, Citrix and VMware Strong experience working with virtual technical Microsoft Server Administration team in a complex environment. Solid project management skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects/responsibilities. Ability to mentor technical staff Ability to cross train in all areas of expertise Ability to communicate with peers, management and customers in general. FourYear degree or equivalent job experience Continued training and study in Technology and Business Leadership. Technical training (certification) on Microsoft platform design and support Strong knowledge of Exchange platforms, Blackberry and Good Technology Strong knowledge of Windows Server Platforms and VMware ESX and associated tools. Strong understanding of networking technology and underlying infrastructure. Strong understanding of information security concepts. Strong understanding of server hardware and peripherals, including mirrored drives and RAID arrays. In depth knowledge of current industry server management tools a must. Comprehensive understanding of Server antivirus management and deployment software. Strong knowledge of Windows 2000/2003 Active Directory server architecture, Exchange environments and services. Experience implementing, administrating and troubleshooting common TCP/IPbased services including DNS, DHCP, HTTP, SSH, SMTP, SNMP, SMB, etc. Experience implementing, administrating and architecting virtual server environments, such as VMWare ESX. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to produce coherent and organized documentation. Must have efficient time management skills with proven ability to effectively multi task. Working knowledge of SMS, MOM, Citrix and messaging components. Strong troubleshooting skills.
