Required Skills Minimum of 84 months experience in providing Technical Architecture services supporting a Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle and MySQL database environment. Experience must include architecture and design of SQL Server infrastructures on a Windows platform. Minimum of 84 months experience designing processes and procedures, setting up standards, and creation of scripts for installation of Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle and MySQL software and the creation of databases.Minimum of 84 months experience performing short and longrange planning needs for databases, focusing on performance and sizing characteristics to determine upcoming storage, CPU, memory, and network needs.Minimum of 36 months experience in the design, architecture and build of Microsoft SQL Server on a HyperV framework. Minimum of 48 months experience in the design, architecture, and build of HADR Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or higher versions, including failover cluster instances, Alwayson availability groups, and Disaster Recovery processes.Minimum of 48 months experience in proof of concept and prototyping activities to evaluate whether proposed architecture and database components meet functional and nonfunctional requirements.Minimum of 60 months experience implementing and supporting Microsoft SQL Server database instances with SQL Server Integration and Reporting services. the development and delivery of government hosted IT services and solutions.Minimum 24 months demonstrated experience providing architectural / Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle and MySQL DBA support for government / public sector IT operations utilizing ITILcompliant methodologies for the development and delivery of government hosted IT services and solutions.Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Information TechnologyKEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Work with the architecture and design of new applications, databases, and technical infrastructure changes.2. Architect SQL Server Failover Cluster environments for site critical databases, including configurations, failover testing, tuning, creating standards3. Design processes and procedures, setting up standards, creation of scripts for installation of Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle and MySQL software, creation of databases4. Perform short and longrange planning needs for databases and applications, focusing on performance and sizing characteristics to determine upcoming storage, CPU, memory, and network needs.5. Support the implementation of Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle and MySQL databases and SQL Server Integration and Reporting services within NYS Enterprise managed database environments.6. Partner with all other teams (database management team, software development team, designers) and users to provide best solutions by maintaining the best standards of practices.Allocate storage, setup and monitor database backups, create database instances and schemas, implement maintenance plans, and maintain database security. 8. Use DBA tools to monitor, diagnose, and fix issues with the enterprise managed database environments9. Interact heavily with other DBA staff to provide onthejob training and assistance in performing database administrative activities10. Work offhours occasionally to support Database maintenance, operational procedures, and initiatives11. Required to be available for rotational oncall support to maintain 7x24 coverage of the Database environment12. Work on proof of concept and prototyping activities to evaluate whether proposed architecture and database components meet functional requirements, as well as nonfunctional requirements such as reliability, scalability, performance and maintainability
