Description
Position Description The incumbent will be a Linux System Administrator with Hadoop experience responsible for setup, configuration and management of a multinode (50 to 100) cluster. Responsible for design and implementation of network and system level security for Linux environment hardening the system at the OS level enforcing authentication and authorization. Work with LDAP, Kerberos and existing security infrastructures. Responsible for filesystem backup and fully automated setup and implementation through use of scripting languages. Familiarity with shell scripting, Perl or similar languages preferred. Prepare and deliver presentations to communicate deployment process for the proof of concept. Be a point of contact between the customer management, technical community and the contractor for information systems design and development. Provide enterpriselevel information technology recommendations and solutions in support of customer requirements. Ensures accurate documentation of technical specifications Skills Requirements Demonstrated experience in setup, configuration and management of security for Linux OS at an Enterprise level. Experience with Linux network and system level securityExperience with implementing Proxy ServersExperience with Backing up file systems and site level DRExperience with multiple scripting languages used in a Linux environmentExperience with Debian or Red Hat based package managementExperience with open source software.Experience with Network monitoring concepts and tools in a multi platform data center environment.Strong verbal and written communication skills are critical. Candidate must be able to effectively interact with all levels of customer staff, and be able to flourish in a government contract setting.Ability to adapt to a changing environment.Must be able to navigate in a Windows workstation setting, and have good knowledge of the Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Education Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 11 years or more of professional IT experience; or 9 years of professional IT experience with a related Masters degree. Considered an expert, authority in discipline. Certified Linux System Administrator (e.g. Red Hat Linux) desired.
