Essential Duties and Responsibilities Comprehensive knowledge and expertise in database designWorking with the Data Architect to design and implement the physical data model in DBMSDefining and creating the DB2 objects in development, QA, Staging and production environments.Assisting application analysts in functional proto typing and carrying out performance prototypingExtensive knowledge and expertise of DB2 utilities, IBM and BMCDeveloping backup/recovery procedures for application tablesSupporting application programmers in the designing and testing of DB2 applicationsParticipating in the methodology checkpoint reviewsProviding technical assistance to other team members (Sytem DBA, Environment management, Storage admin, Operations and business etc.)Develop DB2 security strategy and manage it for appropriate databasesAssisting in product installation and defining initial installation options Providing input to the organization's capacity planning function Develop common DBA usage tools. Support IBM, BMC, CA and Compuware tools and utilitiesMonitoring and tuning the DB2 subsystemEstablishing guidelines for the use of the DB2 subsystem security and coordinating their use with the security administration functionDefining requirements for the DB2 Resource Limit Facility governorDeveloping and implementing database administration policies and proceduresEvaluating and testing DB2related softwareSupport DB2 subsystemsSupport Global teamsPlan/Monitor DB2 DASD, tapes and performanceInterfacing with other operators, the helpdesk, and shift managers on the status of DB2Support and implement encryption for PII data Extensive knowledge of Windows, Unix and WebSphere to manage and install DB2 software and tools for DB2 distributed access via DB2 Connect servers to DB2 for z/OSCapacity monitoring and planningPerformance tuningProduction controlProvide 7x24 production and development supportConfiguration/install managementDisaster Recovery planning and execution strong leadership skills Experience with varying SDLCs such as Waterfall, Agile(Scrum), etc. Minimum Requirements Minimum of 7+ years of DB2 DBA experience with all the following DB2 V11 experience is must and DB2 V12 experience is preferred Extensive knowledge of all DB2 utilities 7+ year experience with TSO/ISPF, Z/OS 2.1 7+ year experience with CICS 5.2, COBOL 4.2, JCL, and JAVA in both online, batch and distributed environments 5+ year experience with MQseries, REXX, and DFSort Experience with TCP/IP, SNA, channels, containers and web services in an MVS environment Thorough knowledge of structured programming technology for structured language environment Thorough knowledge of interpersonal skills/team building Thorough knowledge of applications/development methodologies Thorough knowledge of ENDEVOR and Expeditor Considerable knowledge of performance tuning Skill in operating independently Skill in exhibiting solid analysis, decisionmaking, and problem solving Ability to assess requirements, alternatives, and risks/benefits for low to highimpact projects
