System Test Engineer

Duties As part of the NetBackup Appliance System Test & Performance Team, the candidate will be responsible for performing backup storage appliances system testing.As a Software QA Engineer, you will be working on validating Symantec backup, storage, and security appliances for small/medium to large enterprise customers. Plan and execute test plans for scalable enterprise level backup, storage, security appliances that involve system, performance and regression testing. Performing qualification and integration tests against new product introductions. Working with groups (hardware and software) for test development tasks and supporting investigations and resolution of issues from our customers. Writing or modifying test scripts or programs with use of the Perl or Python programming language. Analyze report and resolve systemlevel software related issues that cross multiple engineering teams. The individual should be selfmotivated, have the ability to work with a QA project lead to help solve customer issues, be able to automate scripts in variety of software programming languages. Skills Required Skills 7+ years of handson QE experience and/or BS/MS in CS/EE. Experience with Symantec Netbackup Software 7.x, installation and administration is a must. Hands on System and Scalability testing of complex configurations that include multi networks, Fibre Channel, and large amounts of storage. Experience in testing, Symantec PureDisk (Deduplication Disk), VERITAS File System (VxFS), VERITAS Volume manager ( VxVM) and related IO performance in these areas is a plus Experience with Storage Appliances is a plus, eg.,Netbackup Appliance, Data Domain, Netapp
