ETL Developer

Description

Job Description As a member of the Business Intelligence (BI) team, this individual will understand the business problem and provide end to end support of application delivery of various Business Intelligence solutions. The individual will also be involved in all phases of software development lifecycle and assist the team to implement the most optimal ETL based BI solutions. The creation and maintenance of best practices, standards documents, and optimization whitepapers are important function of this resource. Responsibilities Work on/Lead various ETL based initiatives in line with the department development standards and the industry standard ETL best practices Analyze, document and communicate data integration requirements related to BI needs and objectives, and coordinate requirements with data owners and custodiansAssess and propose solutions to improve the BI delivery architecture to evolve with business needs, including recommending data marts and data warehouse structuresEstablish and enforce standards to avoid redundancy and encourage standardization and consistency among reporting products and processesDesign and build Data Marts, Data Feeds, Data Cubes, Universes, Data Warehouse Subject Areas, etc for BI reportingDesign and build graphs, charts and advanced SQL statements, develop scorecards, write and implement ETL scripts, tune tables and scripts for performanceCreate and maintain technical application documentation; including design specifications, test plans, application architecture, data flows, use cases and workflowsProvide top notch solution using BI/ETL technologies (Especially Business Objects Data Services/Data Integrator)Analyze the current state of the business processes and provide indepth analysis, documentation and a proposed future state solution. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Good Analytical & Leadership skills, Strong client communication skills and team mentoring skillsIndepth understanding of the ETL Lifecycle and implementation methodology in line with the Ralph Kimball Data Warehousing conceptsExperience designing data models for 2+ large project ( 500K plus )Ability to convert business requirements into functional and technical requirementsAt least 5 years
