Position SummaryThe Automation Engineer will be part of a team that is responsible for the architecture, design implementation and support of infrastructure solutions that support the automation of large scale management tasks across 20k+ servers across platform in the AIG environment.Primary Success Factors Must have system engineering and administration experience in a UNIX and Windows environment with substantial knowledge of the operating systems for Solaris, SuSE, AIX, RHEL, and Windows platforms.Preferred advanced knowledge of CIS compliance for both security auditing and remediationPreferred to have advanced working knowledge of JFrog ArtifactoryPreferred working knowledge of Chef EnterprisePreferred working knowledge of Chef Automate as a CI/CD pipelineMust have extensive knowledge of OS patching, software packaging and deployment processes and strategiesWorks with application development team on application building, deployment and troubleshooting.Contributes to designing technical roadmaps in support of the IT strategyConsults on operational challenges and key projects.Required Experience Must have advanced programming/scripting languages such as JSON/Jscript, Ruby, Perl, Korn Shell, Bourne Shell, C, VBScript, PowerShellShould have basic knowledge on Oracle database supportShould have basic knowledge on directory services such as DNS, LDAP, and Active DirectoryExperience with application packaging for software deployment toolsExperience in system/application tuning and performance optimizationExperience working with a cloud vendorProviding oncall support for production environmentsDemonstrated analytical skills with creative and innovative approach to problem solvingStrong communication and presentation skillsAbility to function as a member of a team; ability to manage multiple projects and tasks concurrentlyFive or more years of experience with supporting RedHat Linux and WindowsBachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience Key Areas of Responsibility Strong ability to clearly and professionally document architecture and processes using Visio or similarKnowledge of managing a large Chef environment, Roles/Policies, RBACAbility to write and maintain complex Chef cookbooks and recipesAutomating with various scripting languages where necessary to improve processesAbility to manage multiple projects and work as a team playerSystem/application tuning and performance optimization Top Performer for This PositionIndepth knowledge of both Windows and UNIX operating systemsStrong communications skills, ability to get ideas acrossWill work with vendors and offsite teams able to integrate into environmentInnovative approach to problemsolvingOncall support for prod environmentsAlign with AIG
