Description

Responsibilities QA Analysts are responsible for ensuring the system architecture is built to handle the performance and response time goals, in addition to capacity planning. The QA Performance Analyst must possess a strong understanding of Web based performance testing, Architecture, Strong Oracle Skills and Networking experience. Drive processes of Performance Testing, Performance Analysis and Capacity PlanningUnderstand scalability and architecture constraintsDesign benchmarks to meet specific test objectivesProvide input into the architecture and design reviews to aid in measuring aspects of the system during the design and development phases.Ownership of root cause analysis and performance tuning activities.Tune systems configurations (Oracle, Networks, Applications)Performance Profiling and System Modeling.Analyze investigation results and present results to senior managersConstruct presentations to communicate findings to a clientWorking with Development and Infrastructure teams to identify root cause of breakdowns and maintain system performanceInspects, simulates, and collects data through various techniques to reduce the risk of failing system validation.Assists in testing systems and subsystems by defining test cases and plans, developing procedures, operating and monitoring tests, and tracking results to enhance performance.Collects and assists in analyzing the measures of system performance to enhance performance.Researches various technical and management areas related to network performance to derive efficiencies.Conduct usage analysis studies of systems, analyzing data and mapping for future growthDevelop practices and tools to facilitate testdriven development with a high degree of test automation.Qualifications 4+ years experience in load, performance and capacity testingExperience in planning, performance capacity testing for large scale projects.4+ years experience with quality assurance methodologiesHas a deep understanding of relational databases and operating system elements and designMust have familiarity with principle database engines, specifically Oracle, SQL Server, and DB2Must understand technology oriented facilities such as networks, processors, application server configurations, firewalls, and systems management toolsMust understand the performance metrics systems available on the various hardware platforms such as SAR, PERFMON, VMSTAT, TOP, STATSPACK, etc.Must understand capacity planning and performance management and must be able to assess the impact of loading new configurations to a platform including storage and memory requirementsMust be familiar with performance engineering methodology and its relationship to the System Development LifecycleMust possess strong analytical ability and have a knowledge of modeling methodologies, architecture, and data design principlesShould have an understanding of design and implementation of service level agreementsMust be familiar with configuration management software, modeling and load testing tools, performance lab environments, etc., to support the promotion of errorfree and high performance configurations into production environmentsMust demonstrate a high level of communication skills (writing & presentation)Must be familiar with scripting packages from Mercury (Load Runner), Segue, or Rational SoftwareExperience with C, Java and/or scripting languagesExpectations include a high level of initiative and a strong commitment to job knowledge, productivity, and attention to detail.
