Description

The Linux Network Administrator responsible for monitoring and maintaining the Linux environment at Aetna / Medicity by responding to tickets, building new servers, managing the virtual environment, software and firmware updates, documenting and improving process, and other work depending on business needs. Network maintenance is also required.Fundamental Components Duties and Responsibilities This position will play an integral role in the success of the group. Specifically, the role will be responsible for the following Manage Systems to address user requirements and changing business needs.Monitor environment activityRespond in a timely manner to notification eventsDocument system configurationAt a regular interval, provide one week of nightly and weekend oncall support, as part of the Operations on call rotationEstimate project effort and track project status using defined project management methodology.Monitor and support the backup environmentInterface daily with Medicity personnel and provide topquality supportMaintain user access through roles and profiles, security settings, access settings to ensure the security of managed systemManage various work requests from multiple sourcesWork with vendors to evaluate and implement new technologiesBACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE Required Experience 35 years of experience in the administration of VMWare and all related applications. 35 years of experience in the administration of Microsoft Windows Servers. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills Selfmotivated, detailoriented, organized. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to multitask, prioritize and manage time and complex tasks and projects in a highpressure environment Experience working in a teamoriented collaborative environment Have the propensity to handle urgent interruptions professionally. Sound analytical skills with the ability to successfully troubleshoot and problem solve with both internal and remote users.Preferred Experience Hyper Converged Infrastructure knowledge.Demonstrated Linux proficiency.Storage management experience with a Traditional or Autotiering SAN or Converged architecture experience.Blade Server management experience, preferably HP.Enterprise level backup, Antivirus/spam, vulnerability server management experience.Proficient in Microsoft core technologies such as Active directory, Group policy management, DNS, DHCP, Failover Clustering, IIS etc...Microsoft Exchange system Management 2017 or higher.Cisco switching, VPN/firewall management preferred.Experience with SEIM, IPS/IDS, and log management utilities. Alerting systems such as Nagios are a plus.
