Description
This is a position for a senior Weblogic administrator with experience engineering production solutions and working in fast paced environments. The ideal candidate should be able to identify issues and trends, recommend solutions, collaborate effectively with customers and peers, and have a proven track record of driving results. Install vanilla packages and configure packages based on business requirements. Configure upgrade tools and execute upgrade scripts. Download and analyze patches/fixes for upgrade. Finetune data conversion scripts and ensure migration across various test Indepth knowledge of UNIX environment from an architecture perspective. Indepth understanding of the UNIX file system Korn shell programming is required; Perl programming a plus. Senior level experience in Application Server Administration, prefer WebLogic and WebSphere. Leadership skills to work with multiple support and application teams. Must display willingness to accept responsibility, take initiative, use good judgment and maintain a positive attitude. Must be able to act decisively and promptly while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Regular attendance is key to performing the job. Senior Systems Engineer Weblogic Middleware (Support) Description POSITION OBJECTIVE This position is responsible for development, design, implementation, configuration and support of complex operating environments across the enterprise. Troubleshoots and recommends solutions or resolves complex problems. Ensures systems security throughout the organization, conducts and execution, analyzes capacity and performance of operating environments. Provides timely and accurate level 3 oncall support for area of expertise. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Performs design and deployment of complex operating environments within area of expertise Implements, tests, debugs, and documents new systems or enhances existing systems. Assists lower level technical staff in problem resolution Develops complex systems, and/or products following program specifications. Gathers and conducts an assessment of the project requirements and apprises appropriate individuals. Reviews and coordinates test plans for new and existing environments. Interfaces with peers, technical & business staff, vendors, customers, and all levels of management. Writes scripts, templates, interfaces, and utility applications as need to maximize efficiency and target continuous improvement. Provides technology and process training within discipline. Performs project coordination and planning Consults with other IS teams to perform needs analysis, evaluates requirements, recommends designs, provides cost analysis. Plans and coordinates projects, delegates project tasks to Analysts. Works with business and IT partners to define and understand system requirements. Plans, designs, implements system architecture and security; data integrity/recovery, planning, contingency planning, research & development. Provides input and adherence into capital and expense budgets. Develops solution alternatives to meet business needs and considers the costs and risks associated with each alternative. Assists in costing of new systems and environments. Creates and coordinates best practices Contributes to the development of new principles and concepts. Develops and implements policies, procedures, and standards. Translates technology roadmap into actionable plans. Work with vendors and IS partners to understand emerging technologies, technical roadmaps, and how it applies to Kohl's environment. Leverages experience and leadership to drive best practices in Kohl's environments. Mentors lower level technical staff. Participates in capacity and performance engineering practices.
