QA Technical Lead

Description UL WHS is seeking enthusiastic, detail oriented, and reliable candidates for the position of Quality Assurance Technical Lead. The successful candidate will have natural intellectual curiosity with a very strong analysis and technical background. This person must be a driven selfstarter; who has a sense of urgency; who can lead the team in order to meet deadlines despite obstacles; and who will make a difference by mentoring and coaching other team members. This person will have previously demonstrated an ability to deftly handle multiple priorities and responsibilities. The successful candidate will have strong multitasking skills; be detailoriented; be able to communicate effectively (frequently, unambiguously, and professionally) with both technical and nontechnical people. Significant duties and responsibilities include Mentor and help lead subteams within QA to enhance focus on QA engineering standards and best practices Coach staff on how to implement more effective and efficient test strategies and test practices to ensure a high quality product is produced, with risk well defined and mitigated Work in an Agile Scrum environment with Software Engineers, Product Management, Technical Writing, and Infrastructure groups Build strong relationships across onshore and offshore teams Define and build our automation and coverage techniques Define, implement and maintain quality assurance methodologies, processes, and metricsLead the practice and demonstrate the following Detailed functional testing of webbased applications in a SaaS environment Develop, maintain and execute test cases Monitor, manage, and report problems and defects with applications under test Work proactively with developers, IT and technical support to resolve issues in a timely manner Maintain high level of knowledge of the applications authored by UL WHS Requirements/Qualifications Proven knowledge and understanding of industry standard quality assurance methodologies, standards and best practices Exceptional organizational, time management and project management skills 7+ years experience in a QA leadership role Expert in various automated testing tools and methods used in web based applications Strong analytical and diagnostic skills with a proactive approach Experience with performance testing software/tools Thorough understanding of the development lifecycle and exposure to various SDLCs, especially Agile Strong Experience with SQL and database testing including an understanding of database schemas and querying tools (i.e. SQL) Experience working within and leading distributed teams desirable
