DevOps Engineer

Description

The DevOps team is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to automate the build, deployment and smoke test process for the VA (Validation Authority) Product. The VA build matrix is complex and has multiple build dependencies for several product components and deployment artifacts that must be verified on several target platforms (Windows, Solaris, RHEL). You have strong system administration and software engineering experience that you'll draw from to evangelize and drive DevOps best practices on the VA team. You love working on small, highly talented teams that take pride in delivering high quality products. Duties / Responsibilities Must be a selfstarter with excellent communication and documentation skills, require minimal supervision and work well in a collaborative environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the build of a Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery practice for the VA Product. You enjoy using tools like Maven, Jenkins, Nexus, SVN, Shell, C, Makefiles, Java, and know how to deploy on Linux and Windows platforms. In addition, you will have responsibility for Mavenize projects to resolve complex build dependencies.Building OpenSource libraries in C with Make. Managing multiple versions of software and performing manual merges to ensure version consistency.Add existing automated build scripts into Jenkins and leveraging Nexus to cache library dependencies rather than have them committed to SVN.Add existing automated test scripts (smoke tests) to Jenkins and create reports providing Go/NoGo status of the build, letting QA know whether or not to invest in execution of a longer duration test plans (regression/performance tests).Implementation and operation of the Continuous Integration & Continuous Delivery systems worldwide (Jenkins, Artifactory, Nexus, SonarQube, etc)Implementation and operation of the SVN (CollabNet) and Git (GitLab) source control management systems worldwideOperation and Administration of the Network configuration and Hardware infrastructure where the CI, CD and SCM services are deployed, including VMWare virtual machines, Docker containers, Amazon virtual machines (AMI) as well as physical servers.Project entails.1. Delivering a solution in Jenkins that automates the following for the VA (Validation Authority) product Build processes (C + Makefiles) for Windows, Solaris, RedHat Dependency checking (Mavenizing the project) Deployment onto Windows, Solaris, and RedHat Smoke Testing on Windows, Solaris, and RedHat 2. Full documentation and Knowledge Transfer activity to the lead VA developer to maintain solution delivered. Skills / Qualifications Experience with Windows and Linux distributions such as SLES, RHEL, Ubuntu and OpenSUSE.Good Linux/Unix and Java build tools knowledge (GNU make, ANT, IVY, Maven).MUST BE STRONG IN MAVEN!!!!Knowledge of scripting languages such as bash, groovy, python, etc.Good understanding of Networking (TCP/IP, Interfaces, Routing).
