Knowledge/Skills/Competencies/Experience/Education Working knowledge of Investment Management business. Working knowledge of Investment Management systems and data (experience with Barclay's POINT, FactSet, Bloomberg AIM, and Portia a plus) Superior analytical and diagnostic skills. Extensive knowledge and understanding of process design, analytical and productivity improvement methodologies. Strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to generate original ideas to support company initiatives. Superior strength in evaluating feasibility or practicality of ideas and options, assess risks and tradeoffs and, make informed and timely decisions. Solid interpersonal skills and expert strength in facilitating and presenting in large group settings. Demonstrated superior flexibility in the face of ambiguous situations, shifting demands and challenging work environments. Excellent initiative and ability to commit to a course of action in the face of risks and uncertainty. Superior strength in analyzing data driven projects The Strategic Planning & Expense Management (SPEM) group within Manulife Asset Management performs detailed analysis of key business processes, and partners with the technology groups to deliver strategic solutions. This position is responsible for the management of multilple key projects affecting Manulife Asset Managements business units. Position will provide support to management in implementing complex solutions across the organization, specifically to address AUM, Asset Allocation, and Performance & Attribution reporting. 5+ yrs experience Responsible for management of the entire project lifecycle from project definition/scope through implementation. Develop project plan and drive project milestones. Employ project management methodologies and tools, like MS Project. Identify, coordinate, and manage resources and key stakeholders for project. Ensure effective change management occurs throughout the course of the project. Manage all communication plans, training and documentation. Deliver projects on time, at/under budget and within scope. Communicate project status to all stakeholders on a regular basis throughout the lifecycle of the project. Position requires excellent oral and written communications, interpersonal, negotiation, project planning, judgment, leadership, decisionmaking, analysis and problemsolving skills. Expert knowledge of MS Project, Excel, MS Word and Visio. 35 years of prior experience in project management is required.
