Summary Lead, coordinates and supports effort to optimize performance in a multiple architecture environment. Monitoring Tools Engineer will provide senior level design and support skills to existing monitoring tools. Be the subject matter expert in IT monitoring solutions this includes processes. Interface with vendors for technical answers and participate in contract and pricing negotiations. Provide technical direction to junior members of team. Represent team in absence of manager. Roles and Responsibilities Integrate and schematically depict complete architecture for communications, topologies, hardware, and software protocols and evaluate new products. Perform infrastructure problem resolution and assist in the development and documentation of technical standards. Monitor systems performance, ensure capacity planning is performed, and is proactive in assessing and providing recommendations for improvement. Analyze and monitor protocol compatibility, perform systems tuning, and provide recommendations for improvements. Perform as an internal consultant, advocate, mentor, and change agent. Assist in the planning, forecasting, implementation, and identification of resource requirements for moderately complex systems, as well as, in planning, architecture design, and engineering. Lead, coordinate, execute, assess, and support programs and applications. Determines architectural principles/approaches for complex, systems within multiple environments. Understand the technical and business aspects of creating and/or modifying an effective strategic technology plan. Initiates change/improvement to the architecture as the business or technical requirements change. Demonstrates broad experience and knowledge in application architecture for complex, crossfunctional applications. Provides seniorlevel leadership to junior support teams. Be the subject matter expert in providing IT Monitoring solutions to meet business and IT requirements Architect and build IT monitoring solutions using different vendor products Work with multiple monitoring tools, IBM Tivoli, CA Introscope, MS Operations Manager, IBM Omnibus Script custom application and hardware monitoring agents Deploy custom and out of box monitoring agents Provide leadership and technical guidance to junior team members Represent team in manager's absence
