Description

As a Java developer on the App Scale team, you will have a hand in defining the technology that runs Salesforce. You will join a team of worldclass, highly motivated software engineers to deliver a highquality software architecture with the scalability and performance needed to match the staggering growth of our services. You will need deep experience with concurrency and other highly scalable approaches, proficiency with solving realworld data management challenges in large data systems, a strong understanding of how to architect solutions that are highly available, and a proven ability to design, develop, and optimize the core backend systems.Responsibilities Design and implement major pieces of the salesforce.com core database infrastructure such as; replication, messaging, application scaling using readreplicas, and dynamic capacity management. Formulate and implement evaluate algorithms to support service scalability and stability. Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders in designing, developing, deploying, operating and monitoring software systems, and services Resolve complex technical issues and drive innovation that improves system availability, resiliency, and performance Desired SkillsExpertise in objectoriented programming languagesStrong understanding of data structures, design patterns, concurrency, and scalabilityExperience building a highperformance largescale platformExperience in building metrics rich dynamic capacity applicationsStrong understanding of schema design and SQL developmentExperience with agile software development, and short release cyclesFamiliarity with Oracle internals, DB2, PostgreSQL, or comparable database technologies
