Essential Functions Monitor and perform troubleshooting of production applications during peak usage (WedSun Evenings)Troubleshooting software problems and testing workarounds & fixesManagement and prioritization of application support issuesSupporting live applications, administering databases, performing data integrity tasksMonitoring applications for early problem detectionEnsuring quality of applications through reviews, application testing, and system testingInteracting with development, client services, customers, and outside partners for troubleshooting and problem preventionMaintaining test environments and creating automated regression testsSupporting deployment of releases and patches to stage and production environmentsAssisting with the design requirements for systems to support the production environmentOther tasks as requested to support overall systems & operationsWorks independently on assigned tasks. Gets guidance from senior engineers.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Software problem troubleshooting and preventionUnderstanding of the product development lifecycleExperience in testing, design reviews, and regression test automationSQL Server, Enterprise Manager, and TSQL queries and stored proceduresHTML and web browser technologies, IIS administrationMicrosoft operating systems concepts and administrative toolsScripting tools to automate monitoring, deployment, troubleshooting tasksAbility to work independently and to handle multiple tasksExperience with handling tasks requiring high reliability, accuracy, and timelinessProblem solving, business process and people interaction skillsProven verbal and written communication with technical and business contactsExternal customer service skills with technical and nontechnical clientsDesire to work in fast paced growth company environment with high potential for rapid expansion of responsibilitiesBS degree in Computer Science or similar2 to 4 years of experience with databases, applications, and problem resolutionWorked in productionlevel organization, supported applications for business use
