Data Analyst

Description

Looking for a resource who can analyze data and are also expected to do some modeling and assist with the Design that the developers would do. Any type of experience working with Life/Annuity Admin Systems would be the win. The tools they are using are Informatica for Data and Erwin for Modeling. They have one Jr. level person who sits onsite at Des Moines and this person would be expected to work with and groom them. There are 3 other Data Analysts that sit in Baltimore that they will be working with as well. Duties and Responsibilities Data Analysis Responsible for direct interaction with the Business Consultants, DBA team and End User to gain a thorough understanding of the data being requested.Responsible for mapping requested data fields from Third Party Systems to FGL data structures.Responsible for the creation of data field conversions from Third Party Systems to FGL definitions.Responsible for working directly with the third party data staff to develop the requested data interfaces.Responsible for testing the data received from the Third Party Systems for accuracy of format and conversion definitions.Responsible for providing production support for data when issues arise. Design Responsible for the collection, analysis, interpretation and summarization of data in the generation of reports for endusers.Designs and or develops database objects (databases, tables, stored procedures, DTS Packages) to support the collection, tracking and reporting of business data.Designs, develops and supports reporting tools that utilize advanced features in MS Excel and MS Access, i.e. VBA, macros. Data Consultation Responsible for acting in a consultative position for answering questions about the available data and the data that it is possible to capture from the third party systems.Responsible for providing support for miscellaneous data projects. Experience and Education Requirements Bachelors Degree preferred. 57 years of experience with Life Insurance/Annuity systems required. Skills and Abilities The person that holds this position must be both customer and results oriented.Must display strong written and verbal communication skillsMust display strong analytical skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities.Experience with modeling a plusExperience implementing and/or working with Meta Data a plus.Experience with Informatica a plus.Two + years of experience with SQL Server 7.0 or higher.
