DescriptionHave an opportunity for a Chemistry and eSAR Application Specialist to join our client in Cambridge, MA. ResponsibilitieseSAR is an inhouse application for Structure Activity Relationship analysis. It is used by Chemists and Biologists to gather chemical and biological information on their respective projects.Act as the USarea support for eSAR application and Chemistry ELN (based on Cambridgesoft/Perkin Elmer).Act as the US representative of the global eSAR support team providing close customer support on usage of the eSAR application.Ensure Business Continuity for eSAR US users operational incidents resolution in coordination with infrastructure teams and Level 2 support teams.Contribute to L3 global support activities.Investigation on data issues and bugs.Test the bug fixes and enhancement implementations.Prioritize the enhancement requests from local users and communicate them to the global team to have them added in the application roadmap.Contribute to global communication events.Contribute to global support initiatives according to the priorities.Create Business Objects reports for program teams and scientific support teams according to their needs and requests.Train and coach scientists on the usage of the eSAR application.Promote the awareness of the eSAR application and services as a resource/tool to US scientists.Act as regional representative of the global Chemistry ELN support team providing close customer support on usage of the ChemLab Notebook application (based on Cambridgesoft/Perkin Elmer ELN).Contribute to the global maintenance and support of the global ChemLab Notebook application, representing the Bostonarea sites. Includes management of corrective maintenance and incidents, functional enhancements (through change requests), and representing their users in global Solution Team meetings.Contribute to the same activities at other sites on an asneeded basis.Participate in training and coaching of scientists on the usage of ChemLab Notebook application. QualificationsSolid Oracle/SQL skills required, with ability to write complex queries. Advanced enduser skills in Business Objects required, with ability to create complex reports using an existing universe.Advanced Excel skills required.Working knowledge of ISIS/Symyx Draw and Accord for Excel preferred.Knowledge and exposure workflow and portal technologies such as Pipeline Pilot and SharePoint preferred.Skills in other visualization tools such as Spotfire considered a plus.Broad knowledge in other IT technologies expected, with preferences in such technologies as Windows, Citrix, Windows / UNIX Servers, Web, programming and/or networking.Exposure to ELN technologies and Research Chemistry workflows required.Specific knowledge in Cambridgesoft ELN preferred.Exposure to or background in Chemistry (or alternately Biology) preferred.Skills in IT Application Support required.Strong communications and networking skills required. BA skills in requirements elicitation and analysis preferred. Ability to work seamlessly between scientists, drug development project teams, other application support personnel and infrastructure personnel is a necessity. BS Degree Preferred.
