Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition Description The Senior Systems Administrator provides design, implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting functions for physical and virtual information systems, applications, and peripheral hardware in support of the Deputy Director, C4 and Cyber Integration (DDC5I) C5 Assessments Division (C5AD) mission and Persistent C5 Environment (PC5E).General Duties Build VMWare ESXi virtual environment (VMWare 6.x and VMWare Horizon 6.x) and maintain virtualized Windows systems; configure and troubleshoot virtualized system hardware and peripheral access issues Deploy and configure a Microsoft Active Directory environment from initial server hardware installation through implementation of common services (DNS, email, file, and print services) in configurations representative of DoD environments Implement DISA STIG (Security Technical Implementation Guide) requirements for Microsoft operating systems, services and roles (DNS, AD, etc.) and applications (MS Office), to include both use of DISA SCAP (Security Content Automation Protocol) tools in securing operating systems and applications Create, deploy and maintain standardized Windows 10 workstation images, via Windows Deployment Services (WDS) and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM); create and manage domain accounts for large user communities in support of events Deploy system updates and patches utilizing Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Microsoft System Center Updates Publisher (SCUP), and Windows Software Update Services (WSUS) Conduct daily system maintenance activities including log reviews and connectivity checks to maintain the infrastructure in a projectready state; troubleshoot hardware, operating system, and software issues Physically install server, workstation and peripheral devices in equipment racks and user workspaces Occasionally travels in support of network eventsPreferred Skills Windows based Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) implementation in a DoD environment, including generation of certificate requests, installing issued certificates, implementing and supporting PKI smart card logins in Active Directory XMPP chat server installation and configuration (OpenFire, Jabber, etc.) Familiarity with Active Directory based deployment of bitlocker drive encryption (BDE) Experience administering DISA Host Based Security System (HBSS) NetApp Filer experience (or general Storage Area Network experience) Brocade SAN fibre channel fabric switch configuration experience (or equivalent SAN fabric switch technology) Cross domain system (CDS) experience (Radiant Mercury) Linux experience (Red Hat Enterprise Linux)
