Performance Test Engineer

DescriptionPerformance Test Engineer will design/develop/conduct integrated load tests to certify the performance readiness of an application to ensure launch success. Individual will coordinate performance testing across the organization and should be experienced working with teams in an Onsite /Offsite /Offshore model.The ideal candidate will have direct experience in Performance Testing domain with the following responsibilities Collaborate with business, application, infrastructure, middleware, backend and network teams to gather requirements to define performance test plan & test strategy Document and maintain use cases/flows, API mapping, integration points & dependent systems Create performance test scripts handson with load testing tools like Performance Center, Load Runner, Neoload & Jmeter using protocols including web http/html, mobile, web services & ajax Design and execute baseline tests, scalability, spike, failover, endurance and stress tests Analyze the test results to identify performance issues and bottlenecks by correlating performance test results with monitoring & diagnostics data Leverage service virtualization solutions to test early in the development life cycle Measure, report, and recommend performance optimization tasks and ensure to meet response time/throughput/error SLAs Participates in daily meetings to support evolving performance test requirementsTypes of performance testing to be conducted Performance tests at API level, Component level and Business Use Case level Performance test baselines for critical work load mixes and trending per Major Release Conduct Stress Test/Scalability Test Conduct Endurance Testing Conduct any Failover/Negative Testing Qualifications B.S. in engineering or equivalent work experience 5+ years of handson experience in creating scripts using protocols including web http/html, Mobile App, web services, micro services and ajax protocols 5+ years of handson experience using load testing tools like performance center, load runner, Neoload, Blaze Meter & JMeter 3+ years of experience in scripting complex web and native mobile application flows handling dynamic values and data inserts/updates 3+ years of experience in designing the test scenarios to conduct baseline tests, scalability, spike, failover, endurance and stress tests Required understanding of different layers of enterprise ecommerce architectures that include onprem/private/public clouds Experience in analyzing test results and correlate with monitoring and diagnosis tools like Wily & Dynatrace, New Relic or App Dynamics etc., Good understanding on application architecture including load balancing, clustering, session handling, JVM level insights, threaddump analysis, connection pooling etc., Exposure to Service virtualization, Network virtualization Exposure to Dev/ops & Agile practices Positive and effective interpersonal and teamwork skills Ability to collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams during issue resolution Excellent attention to detail and followthrough skills Ability to quickly understand new system architecture and functionality Prefer experience working on multiple performance projects concurrently
