Code Quality Advocate

OVERVIEW We are looking for a Code Quality Advocate to support the software construction activities of many SCRUM teams developing complex, distributed web applications primarily in .NET (with some Java.) ENVIRONMENT We take the software engineering craft to heart extensive unit testing, peer reviews, formal coding guidelines with the latest code quality tooling, continuous integration/deployment and a supportive, deliveryfocused atmosphere are just some of the characteristics of our work environment. POSITION This position is on the team that coordinates the code quality efforts for all application development teams, manages the tooling and the guidelines around code quality and technical debt, cognizant of the feedback loops between code quality and software defects, with the objective of reducing the latter through best practices.REQUIREMENTSExcellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Will interact with other teams to enroll them into new practices and tools, but will also support them as the use of existing tools evolves. Coding experience primarily in C# is required. Must be capable of advising on coding rules. Java is desired but optional. Experience analyzing production logs. The position supports tooling that automatically parses and dispatches production error logs. Exposure to SonarQube or Rollbar is desired, but optional. Basic knowledge of statistics is desired, but optional.
